New Believers

What is the gospel?

At Heritage, everything we do stems from this mission: To lead people to find, know, and follow Jesus Christ.

We want nothing more than for you to have a personal relationship with Jesus and to believe in Him as your Lord and Savior. If you are brand new on this journey, click the button below to learn about what it means to have a saving faith in Jesus. Take a step to find Him.

New to Christianity

The Bible describes those who repent of their sins and trust in Christ as followers, or disciples. If you have trusted Christ, the Bible says that God has done a miraculous work and caused you to be born again. As a new believer, we rejoice with you in what the Lord has done in your life!

How to Read the Bible

The Bible is divided into two parts, the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament tells the story of God's perfect creation, how humans rebelled and how God chose the people of Israel as part of His plan to redeem humanity. The New Testament teaches us how God fulfilled His plan to save humanity by sending His Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus is the fulfillment of all the promises and pictures we see in the Old Testament. The point of reading the Bible is to have a deeper fellowship with God, your creator. Get started, and watch how God uses your bible reading time to draw you into a deeper relationship with Him.

Learning to Pray

The truth is, prayer is HARD! We can often feel inadequate when we begin to pray, but remember these simple tips when it comes to prayer: * Don't try to sound good * Understand that God WANTS you to come to Him * Implement a basic structure in your prayer And always remember that our prayers are only possible because of what Jesus did for us on the cross. As you pray, end your prayer in Jesus's name, knowing that God promised to hear EVERY word.

How to Have a Quiet Time

Maybe you've heard the term "quiet time". By this we mean an intentional time every day that we spend with God. We set aside time to pray, read the Bible, and worship the Creator of the Universe. The idea of a quiet time is to go deeper in your personal walk with the Lord. Don't beat yourself up if you miss a day, or find it challenging to concentrate. But work hard to make your quiet time a true time of fellowship with God. He loves you and loves it when you make time with Him a priority.
